BigHouse Talk to us

Rooftop solar · Australia · Italy · United States

Solar on your roof. Cheaper power in your building. We do the rest.

BigHouse builds, owns, and runs solar on commercial buildings. Landlords earn rent from an unused roof. Tenants get a fixed, lower price for electricity. Nobody pays for the system — we do.

No upfront cost · Fixed price · We own and maintain it for life

Who it's for

Three ways to work with us

Pick the one that sounds like you. We'll take it from there.

I own a building

Turn an empty roof into income. We lease it, install the system at our cost, and look after it.

  • Roof rent paid to you every year
  • Or: lower-cost power to offer your tenants
  • We can fund a roof replacement as part of the deal
  • Zero cost, zero maintenance for you

I run a business here

Buy the solar power made on your own roof at a fixed price that's lower than your current bill.

  • One fixed price per kWh, for the long term
  • Nothing to buy, nothing on your balance sheet
  • Protected from grid price spikes
  • Optional battery for evening use

I invest or partner

Back real, generating assets with contracted income — or hand us a solar portfolio to manage.

  • Every position tied to a physical asset
  • Cost and markup disclosed, fixed returns
  • Full operating data on every system
  • Asset management for third-party portfolios
How it works

From empty roof to cheaper power, in four steps

You sign once. We handle the rest — for the whole life of the system.

STEP 01

We check your roof

A quick look at the building, the roof, and the power bill. If it works, we send a simple offer.

STEP 02

We build it — at our cost

Our own equipment, our own project manager, licensed local electricians. You don't pay a cent.

STEP 03

You get the benefit

Landlords receive roof rent. Tenants pay a fixed, lower price for the power the roof makes.

STEP 04

We run it for life

Monitoring, maintenance, insurance, and billing. We own it, so we look after it.

Where we work

Three markets, one simple model

Same deal everywhere: we lease the roof, build the solar, sell the power, and stay.

Our promise

Simple, honest, long-term

1

We own what we build

We're not an installer who leaves at handover. If we wouldn't own it, we won't finance it.

2

Prices you can check

Our cost and our markup are disclosed. A fixed price means a fixed price.

3

Real assets, no speculation

Every position is backed by equipment you can see, making power you can measure.

Questions

The things people ask us first

What does it cost me?

Nothing. BigHouse pays for the equipment, the installation, and the upkeep. Landlords get paid rent for the roof; tenants pay only for the electricity they use, at a fixed price lower than their current tariff.

What is a PPA?

A power purchase agreement. It's a simple contract: we own the solar system on your roof, and you agree to buy the power it produces at a fixed price per kilowatt-hour for an agreed term. No equipment to buy, no maintenance, no exposure to grid price changes.

What kind of buildings work best?

Large, flat or gently sloped roofs with a business underneath that uses power during the day — warehouses, cold stores, logistics sheds, manufacturing, supermarkets, medical centres, childcare. Older roofs, including asbestos roofs in Italy, can still work: we can build the roof replacement into the deal.

What happens if I sell the building or the tenant leaves?

The roof lease transfers with the building, and a solar system with a fixed-price power contract is a selling point. If a tenant leaves, we sell the power to the next occupier or to the grid — the landlord's roof rent doesn't change.

Who looks after the system?

We do, for its whole life: remote monitoring, cleaning and maintenance, inverter replacements, insurance, and metering and billing.

How is this financed?

From BigHouse's own balance sheet and through fixed-price commercial notes secured on the equipment itself. Our structures follow asset-backed, Islamic-finance principles: the return comes from a real asset and a real trade, never from interest on money alone.
